3rd Grade Adventures

  June 6 - 8, 2022  We're almost finished with the school year and it seems like we just started.  Wow... When I think back to August and the 8 year olds who came through my classroom door, I am amazed. They have matured into responsible 4th graders.  I am proud to be able to move them to the next grade, knowing they are ready to handle all the challenges they will encounter.  I want to thank you parents for all you've done for your children these past 9 months.  I'll miss spending time with them. They will never be this age again.  Enjoy them this summer!

  May 23 - 27, 2022   Teach the Teacher ~ Please see the schedule on the Homework Page.  Spelling ~ This is our last test!  We will be writing the words in cursive this time.  Guests ~ I have had the opportunity to meet and get to know the teacher at the Amish school near my home.  I was able to visit that classroom over Christmas break.  Now it's my turn to host her and her sister in our classroom.  They will be visiting on Tuesday morning for about an hour.

  May 16 - 20, 2022   Bull Dog Run ~ God is good! The rain held off long enough to finish the run! It was a great day of fun. Thanks to all those parents that donated to our basket and those who joined in the activities today.  Teach the Teacher ~ We'll be starting our presentations this week.  Friday will be Tirsa, Hawken, and Brylee.

  May 9 - 13, 2022   Gala ~ The class was awesome playing their recorders!!! I was so proud of them.  The pianist solos and duets were fantastic! Great job!  Field Trip ~ Our trip to the Tabernacle is on Thursday.  All permission slips need to be turned in by Tuesday 5/10.  Bull Dog Run ~ Hope to see you on Friday for the Run and Auction!  All students should report to the classroom at regular time. We will be coming to the gym as a class for the live auction.  You may sign your child out with me after that ends and the Bull Dog Run begins. 

  May 2 - 6, 2022 Wow... May is so full of activities it will be hard to keep up.  "Teach the Teacher" lesson plan sheets were sent home this week and are due on Tuesday, May 3.  I will begin scheduling these teaching lessons and send a text with the date your child is scheduled to share as well as have it written in the agenda. I am looking forward to being a student!  Spelling Club ~ I have already sent home an explanation of the Spelling Club that our class will have for the last 4 Spelling Tests.  I'm hoping to encourage those whose grade are slipping a bit due to Spring Fever. 😎  Field Trip ~ Permission Slips for our trip to The Tabernacle were sent home in the Tuesday Envelope.These are due by May 10.  Gala ~ Several students in our class are so excited about performing this night.  Hope to see you there!   April 25 -29, 2022   Fun Hub ~ We have 10 students registered for our school fund raiser so far. Mr. Fry has challenged us to have 90% of our class registered and he will give us a popcorn party!! If you have not registered your child, please do so. It does not mean you have to donate, only register so your child can help out our class. Field Trip ~ We will be taking a field trip on May 12.  I will send home all the information in the Tuesday Envelope.

 April 4 - 8, 2022  Easter Party ~ Wow! You are the fastest volunteers I've ever seen! Thanks to all who have already signed up for our treats. We're planning to enjoy them on Friday afternoon along with a few games.  Iowa Testing ~ Testing will begin the Tuesday after Easter Break.  To prepare, we will be doing a few practice tests on Monday and Tuesday. These do not count for anything other than practice. I'll explain that to the class but it might help those who are anxious to hear some reassurance at home. 😊
